I deal for a private company that does corporate functions etc, not a casino so the job description and requirements are a little different (we're casuals, for example, so in a quiet month we may get no work) but FWIW I get about AUD$40/hr for dealing. You can't necessarily just rock up and say "I wanna deal poker, give me a job". Casino staff aren't allowed to take tips here*.ĪFAIK they don't have to pay anything to get certified - when you apply for a job at the casino they pay you while you're trained and get your casino worker's licence but you don't get to pick your game so if they need roulette or baccarat croupiers at the time that's what you get trained in, then you can work your way into other games later. That's around the $37k per year ballpark in US dollars at the moment. ![]() Starting out they'd be on around AUD$35-40K pa. Pay for casino dealers here depends on their experience, how long they've been at the casino, etc. Wow - I knew wages for dealers in the States were bad but I had no idea they were single figure per hour bad.
